M6+ Connection Instructions

1. Connection Between Mercedes-Benz Diagnostic Software and Hardware

1. Connect the M6+ hardware box to the vehicle’s diagnostic interface using the test cable. The red indicator light ① on the host remains on, and the system indicator ② flashes during startup. After startup, ② stays on and beeps once, indicating successful boot-up.
2. Wired connection: Connect the USB port ⑦ of the M6+ to the computer or tablet via USB cable. A new network connection appears in the network settings (driver-free on Windows 10). Set the IP address to 169.254.255.*, subnet mask: 255.255.0.0, preferred DNS: 169.254.255.255. Under “Advanced,” add an additional IP address: 172.29.127.* with subnet mask 255.255.0.0. Once connected, indicator light ④ turns on.

3. Wireless connection: The wireless network will not appear while the USB cable is plugged in. Unplug the USB cable from the M6+; then locate and connect to the “M6+ DOIP-****” network on your device. The green wireless indicator ⑤ remains on, the wired light turns off, and no configuration is needed. Password: 123456789.
4. After activating the BEN software lock on the computer, the original diagnostic software operates normally.

2. Connection Between BMW Software and Hardware

1. Connect the M6+ hardware box to the vehicle’s diagnostic interface using the test cable. The red indicator light ① remains on, and system indicator ② flashes during startup. After startup, it stays on and beeps once, confirming completion.
2. Wired connection: Connect the M6+ USB port to the computer/tablet via USB cable. A new network connection appears (Windows 10 driver-free). Set the IP address to 172.29.127.* with subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Under “Advanced,” add another IP: 169.254.0.* with subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Once connected, indicator ④ stays on. Press and hold side switch ⑥ for 3 seconds, then release. Indicator ④ turns solid green then flashes—indicating readiness for testing. Unit reverts to initial state after power cycle.
3. Wireless connection: The wireless network is unavailable while USB is connected. Unplug the USB cable to reveal the “M6+ DOIP-****” network. Connect directly—no setup required; password: 123456789. Wireless indicator ⑤ stays green; wired indicator ④ turns off. Press and hold switch ⑥ for 3 seconds, then release. Indicator ⑤ remains on then begins flashing—test mode active. Returns to default after reboot.
4. BMW software on computer uses wired or wireless connection; BMW mobile apps use wireless only.
